Bhakra dam is a very important structure inIndia. Its deepest foundation from top of the dam is 225 meters. Re-analysing the whole structure using finite element software tool is important for safety. Specially seismic analysis using Abaqus v6.7 is gives better results. The dam was analysed and constructed about 65 years back, presently this old dam, we can say old concrete because is of its reduction in strength due to age.
